Armored Turin Color Study by DavidFernandezArt Armored Turin Color Study by DavidFernandezArt
This is a sketchy color study of my previous "Turin in Armor" sketch.

I didnt bother to ink it or anything, I just laid the colors right on top of the pencils.

I actually have a lot of fun coloring loosely like this. It doesnt take as much time, and has a certain charm about it that is lost when I go in and really flesh out the details.

Anyway, I hope you guys like!

I really admire the clothing style. Kind of looks Old Jedi Order style or more like Old Republic era.

*puuuurrr* Niiiice. :love: Loves the dark jedi-ish people hehe

Btw, does he have anything to do with the Tolkien character of Turin? Inspiration maybe? I'm new to your gallery, so I wasn't sure, but I like what I see so far ^^ Just curious! And sorry for my ignorance ^^;

Yeah, his name is based on Turin from the Tolkien books, but his character isnt anything like Turin.

Beautiful work my friend, I can see some The Dark Knight Batman suit influences in there. It all works really well, especially with your background. What I like the most though is the character traits you've captured in both his expression and the band-aid on his cheek. Really gives a great visual story.

Indeed like it I do. The sketchy stuff doesn't really come off as pencil, and in no way does it look sloppy, rather it gives it a sense of movement, and a comic book feel to the style.

Dude! I love the way you used the pencil sketch! It looks awesome that you can see a lot of smaller lines and stuff underneath the colors. It looks excellent, especially in the face. I think usually you sort of do away with those lines when you ink stuff, so it's cool to see how it does add an extra dimension :) You go boy.

He has less armor than a clone trooper to be specific. And the armor itself looks very accurate to the star wars feel, etc. :)

The band aid drew me first(red, cant help it), and it's a nice touch.

Also, i like that you put part of his robe over his armor, it creates the force using badass feel :)

that's quite a bit of armor, but I love the design. At first I was like, must be hard to move in all that, but then I remembered, wait he has the force, XD

Actually, if you really look at it, he has no more armor on him than a clone trooper. Its light weight so he moves around just fine :).

I dig the detail in the armor platelets that Turin uses. It gives them a sort of...prosthetic...look to them, all the while keeping a natural feel. Add the tabbards that show a unique take on the traditional garb, and you have quite the interesting character.

I really enjoy your art style, and I hope to see alot more in the future.
